  • 1 cup frozen banana slices
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks

Blueberry Smoothie

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries
  • (optional) 2 tablespoons blueberry balsamic (sub with fresh lemon, lime or orange juice)

  • Freezer-safe containers (if prepping ahead)
  • Serving bowls and spoons
  • Mason jars (optional, for storing in the refrigerator)

Step-By-Step Instructions

  1. Make Each Smoothie Layer : In a high-speed blender, combine ingredients for one flavor and blend until smooth. Rinse the blender between flavors.
  2. Optional – Prep Ahead : If you’re making these in advance for guests or batching, store each flavor in a freezer-safe container until ready to serve.
  3. Assemble the Bowls : Swirl or layer each smoothie side by side into a bowl. Add a scoop of yogurt and swirl or dollop as desired.
  4. Top it Off : Sprinkle with your favorite toppings and serve immediately.

Storage Tips

  • Store blended smoothies in airtight containers in the freezer for up to 1 week. Let thaw slightly (until soft) before assembling.
  • Keep yogurt and toppings separate until ready to serve.
  • For best texture, assemble fresh!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use just one smoothie flavor?

Definitely. If you’re short on time (or have a lot of the ingredients for that layer), stick to one layer or double a favorite for simplicity.

Is it okay to use fresh fruit instead of frozen?

Frozen gives a thicker texture, but you can use fresh fruit and add ice to achieve a similar result.

Can I make this dairy-free?

Yes! Use dairy-free yogurt and be sure your toppings are dairy-free too.

Do I have to use balsamic vinegar in the smoothies?

Not at all – fresh lime, lemon, or orange juices all work great. The flavored balsamic vinegars simply add an extra punch of flavor!

Description

This layered smoothie yogurt bowl features three fruity blends – strawberry, pineapple coconut, and blueberry – served with yogurt and toppings for a refreshing, nourishing summer breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Strawberry Smoothie Layer

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

Pineapple Coconut Smoothie Layer

  • 1/2 cup canned full fat coconut cream
  • 1 cup frozen banana slices
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks

Blueberry Smoothie Layer

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons blueberry balsamic (sub with fresh lemon, lime or orange juice)

  • topping ideas : bee pollen, granulated honey, homemade granola, fresh fruit, nut butter, chocolate chips, cacao nibs, coconut flakes, fresh mint

Instructions

  1. Make Each Smoothie Layer : In a high-speed blender, combine ingredients for one flavor and blend until smooth. If your frozen fruit isn’t blending easily, add a splash of water or milk to loosen it up. Rinse the blender between flavors and repeat for each smoothie layer.

Notes

  • Flavored balsamic vinegars add unexpected depth, but citrus juices work great too.
  • Use unsweetened yogurt for best flavor balance.
  • This also works well as a build-your-own smoothie bar for kids or guests.
