This Bourbon Barbecue Sauce is smoky, slightly sweet, and finished with just the right amount of warmth from bourbon. It’s quick to make, deeply flavorful, and the perfect way to level up your grilled meats, sliders, or even roasted vegetables. Best of all, it comes together in under 10 minutes, so long as you have a batch of homemade barbecue sauce on hand!
When you want a barbecue sauce that feels a little more elevated, this bourbon-spiked version is a must. The richness of bourbon pairs beautifully with smoky homemade barbecue sauce, while a drizzle of honey adds the balance it needs. A dash of cayenne is optional, but it gives a subtle kick that keeps every bite interesting.
I love starting with my Blueberry Barbecue Sauce as the base for this recipe. It adds a unique fruity depth that bourbon complements so well. Once you make this, you’ll never go back to store-bought bottles – trust me!

Pulled pork, grilled chicken, smoked ribs, or even roasted vegetables. It’s versatile and adds instant depth to any dish.
Can I double the recipe?
Absolutely! This recipe scales easily, just keep the ratios the same.
