Description
Cozy, naturally sweet apple butter made in the InstantPot – no refined sugar required! Perfect on toast, oatmeal, or as a baking ingredient.
Ingredients

- 6 pounds of apples (Fuji, Gala, Granny Smith & Honeycrisp), cored and sliced
- 1 cup water (or swap with apple cider)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon*
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves*
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg*
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (added after cooking)
*Substitute 1 1/2 – 2 teaspoons of Homemade Apple Pie Spice for the cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
Instructions
- Add apples and water to the InstantPot.
- Stir in cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt (or Homemade Apple Pie Spice).
- Secure lid, set to Manual (High Pressure) for 20 minutes.
- Allow a natural release for 15 – 20 minutes, then vent remaining pressure.
- Switch to Sauté mode and simmer for 10 – 15 minutes, stirring often.
- Cool, then blend until smooth using an immersion blender, or transfer to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Stir in vanilla extract and let completely cool before storing.
